Manage production personnel.
Determine Production equipment needs and work with Materials Management and Distribution to improve throughput.
Manage Production labor budget.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Determine and optimize staffing needs for Production Department and communicate with temporary staffing agencies.
Schedule and expedite in-house Production jobs by determining customer priorities.
Ensure on-time delivery to warehouse.
Organize and provide planning for in-house Production including Bagging, Cutting, Kitting and Assembly.
Identify and direct continuous improvement initiatives; participate in team projects as required.
Assist Materials Manager and Distribution Center Manager on special requests or projects.
Communicate with employees, internal customers and Distribution Center Manager.
Provide updates on pertinent information.
Research to address/resolve any issues.
Provide recognition and feedback.
Perform scheduled reviews of direct reports and job descriptions.
Provide routine feedback.
Provide development, coaching and guidance to subordinates.
Verify payroll records for both temporary and full-time employees.
Oversee training of direct/indirect reports on Production processes, safety, quality and policies.
Provide back-up support to Materials Manager and Scheduler.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS Other duties as assigned PERFORMANCE MEASURES Timely performance of Production jobs to maintain highest customer service level Successful leadership and evaluation of Production employees Control of costs for Bagging, Cutting, Kitting and subcontracted services compared to budget Monitor and track Production department performances in productivity, quality, safety and service Attendance and punctuality record Efficiency and productivity of the production departments SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY Yes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Knowledge of kitting, light assembly, cutting, and bagging Good computer skills utilizing MS Office products SKILLS (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning, Other) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent management and leadership skills Good math and problem solving skills Ability to adapt to change Ability to speak Spanish a plus CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS None WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS Able to solve problems expeditiously and economically Ability to handle multiple tasks at once Leadership ability.
